About Marjorie

Marjorie Stordeur is a children’s mindfulness educator, podcast host, and expert at turning calm into kid-sized adventures. As the creator of the Best Day Yet podcast, she’s helped thousands of children build confidence, courage, and calm—one breath at a time. When she’s not writing or recording, you’ll find her hiking with her dog, caring for her chickens, or dreaming up her next big-hearted book.

Story behind Best Breath Yet

As a mom, teacher, and podcast host, I know how powerful breathwork can be… but I also kn0w kids don’t always want to sit still and breathe. So I started creating playful breath stories—ones with dragons and dolphins, trampolines and ninja tiptoes. That’s when everything changed.

With Best Breath Yet, I wanted to make calming down feel like an adventure. Every page invites kids to move, imagine, and discover just how powerful their breath can be. It’s a toolkit for emotions—one they’ll actually want to use.

The Story Behind The Foster Cat-Astrophe

After fostering over 100 kittens (and surviving the chaos that comes with them), I knew I had to write this book. As a school librarian and mom, I was always searching for that just right read-aloud—a story that was funny, heartwarming, a little wild, and perfect for the whole family. When I couldn’t find it, I decided to write it myself.

The Foster Cat-Astrophe is a love letter to kittens, sibling chaos, and the messy magic that comes with fostering. It’s full of laugh-out-loud moments, heartfelt surprises, and a whole lot of fur.

Yes! Over 100 kittens (and counting). We’ve done the “purrito”, the “slow blinks”, and absolutely loved them all—even the spicy ones.

It’s playful! Each breathing practice is paired with a silly or adventurous story—like sneaking past dragons or bouncing on trampolines—so kids don’t just learn breathwork, they love it.

I care for my  chickens, create printables for Big Life Journal, spend time with my kids, and daydream up my next big idea.
